About
Short games built on paradigms a laboratory would recognise, on a phone, a laptop or a wall-sized panel - and a record of what they measured that belongs to the player.
ScopeFocus is a set of games that measure attention while somebody plays them. Each one is a working version of a task from the attention literature - a continuous performance test, a Go/No-Go, a Stroop - drawn as its own thing rather than as a clinical instrument with a skin on it.
A round takes minutes. What it leaves behind is not a verdict but a record: every hit, every miss, every response time, and how the two moved against each other while the round ran.
The mark is four cubes and so is the product. Every game belongs to one of the four areas ScopePlus is built around, and the cube for an area fills with how much of it has actually been measured - never with a percentage of some potential.
These are the tasks the games are versions of. The names are worth knowing: they are what the measurement is, and each has decades of published work behind it that this product did not have to invent.
Watch a stream for minutes and answer only the rare target. It measures whether attention holds when nothing is happening.
Answer almost everything, then stop for the one signal that says do not. It measures the cost of stopping something already underway.
Name the ink, not the word. It measures what it takes to hold one rule when a stronger habit says otherwise.
Say whether this one matches the one n steps back. It measures how much can be held and updated at the same time.
Answer about the middle arrow while the ones beside it disagree. It measures how narrowly attention can be aimed.
Sort by colour, then by shape, on the same cards. It measures the switch itself, not either rule.
Join the sequence, then alternate between two of them. It measures keeping a place in two orders at once.
There is no percentile here, and no band you are placed into. A percentile needs a norm set - a stated number of people per age band, measured under one frozen schedule - and this product does not have one. Until it does, the machinery that would draw one returns nothing and every surface that would show it hides itself.
That is a deliberate weakness rather than a missing feature. A round is compared against the rounds that came before it, by the same player on the same games, and that comparison is the strongest honest thing this product can say.
Training and self-tracking - not a diagnostic tool.
The same build holds from a folded phone to a 4K television, and the layouts are checked against a list of real devices rather than against round numbers. A viewport alone cannot tell a television from a wall, so what the screen is gets decided by how it is touched, not by how wide it is.

The panel
Competition runs on a wall-mounted TabletX: 2707 by 1647 millimetres, a 125-inch diagonal, with its top edge 1807 mm off the ground. Everything a player has to reach sits between 400 and 1220 mm, which is a raised arm for a seven-year-old and not a stoop for a seventy-year-old.
Every number here is read from the code as this page renders, so none of them can drift from what actually ships.

One measurement tool can replay on-screen interaction, and it stays off until you say yes. Switching it back off is a control on this page, in the footer and on the privacy page - as easy as switching it on, which is what the law asks and the reason it is in three places.
