Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ScopeFocus is a cognitive training and self-assessment tool. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and what you can do about it.

2. Data we collect

• Profile information - name, age band, interests - all optional
• Game results - scores, accuracy, reaction times and streaks from each session
• Assessment results - the tasks adapted from published paradigms: Stroop, N-Back, visual search, Go/No-Go and the rest
• AI reports - summaries generated from your own results, at your request

3. How data is stored

• Local storage, first - game data is written to your device. Nobody else can read it unless you share the device.
• Turso, optionally - results may be synced to an edge-replicated database so they survive across sessions and screens.
• A cookie for the language - sf-lang holds two letters, en or tr, for a year. It is what keeps the site in the language you picked and lets email from us arrive in it. If you have not picked one, we guess it once from the country your connection reports and the language your browser asks for - that country is compared once and not stored. Switching the language in the top bar replaces the guess, and clearing your site data clears the cookie.

4. What we do not do

• We do not sell, share or rent your data to third parties
• We do not use advertising or remarketing pixels
• We do not use your data to train AI models
• We do not attach your game results to your analytics session

5. Analytics we run

Three measurement tools run on the live site. None of them receives your game results, your profile, or anything you type. They exist to find the screens people get stuck on, not to identify anyone.

• Vercel Web Analytics - counts page views in aggregate and sets no cookies
• Vercel Speed Insights - measures how fast pages load and render
• Microsoft Clarity - shows where people tap and scroll, and can replay on-screen interaction, so we can see which screens are confusing. Text masking is on, so typed content such as names is hidden before anything leaves your browser. It sets a cookie so a continuing visit counts as one session rather than several. This one stays off until you say yes, and the switch below turns it off again at any time.

6. AI report generation

When you generate an AI report, your own performance data is sent to Google Gemini to produce it. It is not retained by Google beyond that processing. "Sample" mode generates a report without sending anything to an external service.

7. Data retention

Data in your browser stays until you clear it. Synced records stay until you ask for them to be deleted. Nothing is purged automatically.

8. Your rights

• Clear all local data at any time from your browser
• Request deletion of synced records from the profile page
• Export your data as plain-text reports from the dashboard
• Use the product entirely offline - no account required

9. Children's privacy

ScopeFocus offers a child-appropriate mode with simplified games, and children from about five years old use it. No profile data is required to play, and what a profile can hold is optional. A child is never asked to consent on their own account: a player belongs to an account held by a parent, guardian or professional, who supervises the use and consents on the child's behalf - which is also what GDPR Article 8 requires below the age its member state sets, and is set out in full in the KVKK & GDPR notice. The interaction analytics in section 5 can replay on-screen activity, which is why they stay off unless somebody allows them and can be switched off again at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. Material changes are reflected here with a new date, and anyone who has signed an earlier version is asked again.
